On a warm Hollywood night, candles burned on the Boardner’s patio. The intimate setting was filled with passionate Flyleaf fans excited to hear the songs from the new album, Memento Mori (scheduled to be released on 11/10). As each song plays, the applause gets louder as the crowd waits for Lacey Mosley and Sameer Bhattacharya to take the stage to play an acoustic set of the new album.
Lacey glows in the candle light, looking like a porcelain doll in her orange dress. Her stunning voice becomes even more powerful during the stripped down set as she sings “Again” and “Arise,” which Lacey said was about believing in your dreams. Even though this is the first time fans have heard the song, the crowd starts singing the chorus with Lacey. I could feel the love and respect the fans have for the band.
Lacey and Sameer show the fans two music videos from Memento Mori (“Again” & “Beautiful Bride”) and explains the cover art for the album, which was based on a picture done by bassist, Pat Seals. The videos are outstanding and very creative.
